Special Events & Fundraisers

We host and participate in several events each year to bring our church and community together to have fun, learn and raise funds to continue our mission.

Pie Making: Whether you’re an experienced baker or want to learn how to make a pie, you can join us during one of our semi annual, Saturday pie making workshops led by our talented pie maker teacher, Jill Graham. We usually make at least twelve pies to serve a good slice to each guest at the Feast the next day (but we also let you make a small pie of your own to enjoy).

Contact Jill at jgraham@luc.edu or 847/328/5612

Pancake Breakfasts and Bake SalesEvery Spring and Fall we host a Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale.  We invite our community to come, bring their families and friends, and enjoy a wonderful breakfast of fruit or plain pancakes, sausages, orange juice, and choice of beverages.  It is a wonderful time to spend together, pick up some delicious home made baked goods and support our free dinner program.

Healthy Cooking Classes:  Join one of our Interactive Classes and learn how to prepare a healthy meal following the  "My Plate" guidelines. Experience new foods; become more comfortable with various cooking techniques; and learn what foods can improve your health. Then join the group and enjoy all you've learned.

Greater Chicago Food Depository Hunger Walk: Each June we join in the Hunger Walk at Soldier Field that brings awareness of hunger programs of the Food Depository.

Grants and Organizational Supporters: Each year we have various opportunities to request funds from different organizations that can be used for various projects.
